The Creative Kids Museum is Canada’s first and only children’s museum focusing on discovery through art and science. Located at Canada’s National Music Centre’s old campus, the 4,500 square foot museum houses five exhibitions plus a hands-on science studio. The Open Studio in Creative Kids Museum gives kids the freedom to explore and create. The activity-filled space encourages kids around age 11 and up to discover their idea of success through new forms of expression, creativity, and engineering.
Open Studio also has a retro video game computer lab with 16 computers. They have a variety of games, and you can check one out for up to two hours at a time. The suggested donation is $1 for the first hour and $1 for each additional 15 minutes. There’s also a large loft area with tables and chairs where kids can colour or work on projects and free wifi for parents.
Admission tickets to Telus Spark for the general public cost $19.95 to $26.00, while children under 2 get a free accessible entrance.
Telus Spark opens from 10:00 am – 05:00 pm during summer, while winter hours start from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Creative Kids Museum opens an hour earlier than the rest of Telus Spark.
Parking costs are $5.00 for daily visitors. There is complimentary parking with online registration for all TELUS Spark members. Members must register a credit card with an expiry date before they will be able to make a parking reservation.
